  • Friday, February 16, 2018     
    • Noon – 2:00 – Group lunch and  one-hour tour of Balboa Park - Lunch $20.00, Tour $10.00.  Prepayment required.
      • Lunch and tour meet-up will be in the Balboa Park Conservancy Board Room on the second floor.

      • Lunch will be catered by Panama 66 Restaurant in the Park. 
      • During our one-hour docent-led outdoor walking tour of the historic heart of Balboa Park, our guides will not only touch on the history, architecture and garden features we will see as we walk, but also how our beautiful park is enjoyed by millions of visitors from around the world today.  
      • Free parking is available in a number of lots in the Park.  The House of Hospitality is marked as the Visitors Center on the map of the Park.
        • You can also download the free Balboa Park app from your mobile phone provider's app store which includes parking information
      • Uber or Lyft are good alternatives - particularly in inclement weather.
    • 2:00 – 5:00 – 3 hours of CPE 
      • 2:00 - 4:00 Facilitator-Led Ethics Workshop: Blinded by Pressure
        This IMA-developed workshop is based on a real-life case study on Diamond Foods, and includes engaging activities for practical application. Using scenario-based interactive exercises, you'll be able to recognize an ethical dilemma within an organization, identify improper departures from GAAP reporting as a means to improve reported results, recognize the appropriate ways to increase profits within GAAP and ethical guidelines, and identify an auditor's role and responsibility when faced with an ethical dilemma.
        Each participant earns 2 NASBA CPE.
      • 4:00 -5:00 Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis: Inside the CSCA Program and Exam.  This program will feature an IMA webinar on the CSCA including sample questions and test taking tips.  Come see if this certification might be a valuable addition to your CMA credential.
    • 6:30 - 8:30 PM IMA Global Board reception –All IMA members welcome

      • Meet by 2:15 at the10-foot freestanding white clock off of
        Orange Avenue. The clock is located adjacent to the Orange
        Avenue sidewalk in front of the Hotel’s Grande Hall.
      • Parking - there is a lot at the Hotel that is quite expensive.  Street parking is $.25/hour for up to two hours nearby.  There is unmetered street parking farther away (generally on the other side of Orange Avenue), or pay lots nearby.

    • 4:00 – 5:30 – Explore Coronado on our own.  Fabulous beach, shopping, coffee shops, bike rentals and Happy Hours.
    • 5:30 Dinner in Coronado - Miguel's Cocina, 1351 Orange Avenue (across Orange Avenue from the Hotel del Coronado).
